I love my padded Planet waves straps. I know it's a small thing but hell, I can play all night with these things -I don't even feel my guitar anymore. Seriously, prior to them I used to get horrible back aches!!!
+1. Planet Waves bass strap.

Tie between the Peterson Strobostomp 2 tuner and the Overton Flyweight 200 micro head.

Warwick $$. I couldn't get comfortable on the 5, but I have a 4$$ coming to replace it.

My white USA Lakland Joe Osborn/44-60. Alder/rosewood/stack knob/passive four string baby. Finally bit the bullet and spent the dough. And it's "paid for itself" several times over as it's been my #1 go-to since I got it back in January. Used it on on every single session and probably 90% of live dates in 2012.

For me, it's a tie between my Fender Jazz bass and my Fender Rumble 75 amp.

I'll jump in here cause I just started playing bass a few months ago. So, all my current gear is the best I've ever gotten!

Seriously though, I have to say I'm somewhat shocked by how great my rig sounds...1984 Peavey Fury (single Super Ferrite PUP) into a Hartke Kickback 12.

I get compliments on the tone every time we play out...
I guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while...

D'Addario flat wound strings for my P Bass.

A Genz Benz Shuttlemax 12.2 amp head.

2 used first generation Eminence Deltalite 2510 speakers for my SWR Goliath Jr. 4 ohm cabinet.

Discovering this TalkBass website!

I think the GB amp was the best purchase last year.

2012 was a very good year. I'm very greatful for my new gear.

Not sure.

But it'd probably be the Gibson Thunderbird SS, or all the parts, paint and work for the Squier Jaguar SS.

Definately not the most expensive thing of my gear for the year
But, the best would be the Ibanez ATK 750QM! It's one of those things, if it were lost or stolen I would have to get another one. But, they're kind of rare, so I would have to settle for a different model.

Tough question. I can't decide between my Streamliner 900, 87 Spector NS2A or my 07 Lakland 55-02.

Vintage Acoustic 106 cab 2x15" (1973) and Squier VM P. Both loving machines. Cheap and both work miracles.

Rest of the guys are buying pedals, emulators and "stuff" to get "vintage sound". I got it with not so much fuss.
