You surprise me - although, I guess he did go through some very strange-looking basses in the '70s!
I think Precisions were his go-to bass from about '67 to '71; i.e., Sell Out
through Who's Next
. In particular, there was "Frankenstein," assembled from the parts of various smashed Precisions, which was used on a lot of those recordings. (The bass on Live at Leeds
was definitely a P, it may even have been Frankenstein.)
