Best Strings for Jazz Bass?

I currently use a Fender Jazz Bass Highway One Series as my primary bass, and I switch between Super Slinkies and GHS Boomers on it. I've been wondering if there are any other strings that people have had good luck with?
I'm looking for something affordable, long lasting, and with great tone(hard to find something that fits all three categories ).

What type of music do you play?

Try DR Low-Riders

Depends on what sound you like. I have Fender flats on mine right now, and I'm digging the tone.

Whatever sounds best to you are the right ones. I know it's difficult to try a bunch at 30 bucks a whack, but over time you'll find the right ones.

on Jazz basses I like stainless strings. My 2 favorites are DR Hi-Beams and Ernie Ball Stainless Steal Hybrid Slinkys.

That's my 2 cents but i understand the zing of stainless may not be for everyone.

I like either Rotosounds, which have a horrible record for quality, and I just tried a set of Jonas Helborgs and they seem to work well. Boomers sound good, for a very short time.

In general I like nickles on passive basses and stainless on actives, or units like my Gibsons that need the brightness.

I've been satisfied with D'Addario rounds for years now.

Strings are pretty personal though.

That's an awesome bass. I have one just like it. American 57 reissue with a Lindy Fralin pickup. Great thump.

What can I say , I'm a DR endorser, but there is a reason why. For a Jass bass, especially to slap, I like the Marcus Miller signature versions of the HighBeams.

I have DR High Beams on my Jazz. They're really old and dead now (I put them on a year ago) but they sounded killer when they were brand new.

I have DR High Beams(50-110) on one bass and Hard Rockin Steel by Labella(45-105) on another. Either is worthy of endorsement. Best of luck finding your tone!
