Left to Right:
1. Sadowsky V4--my main bass, but it doesn't play like "Fender" with single coils.
2. Nash J--Salmon Pink with Dimarzio Ultra J (currently w/Audere preamp)
3. a real '64 Jazz Bass--stripped
4. Nash J--Candy Apple Red with Lollars, matching headstock and concentric controls.
The two Nashes sound very different from each other--it's the wood--that's one reason I haven't been able to part with either. Great basses. I have a third on order.

I've been thinking about something else too. Bill should come out with his own line of reliced accessories and sell the separately. For example I'd love to have a black pickguard and a stacked knob control plate. His basses just look off with nice new parts on them. |

After playing my JB-63 for a few weeks I am super impressed. I now feel the need to add a p-bass to the collection
...or another jazz...
I like the way Nash's guitars are very much one offs, no two are the same...plus they are incredibly resonant and they feel very, very solid/tight etc well finished. Maybe it's the nitro and the way Nash matches body to neck to get a tight fit. They are very 'play me' instruments.

I have the same model on order...did two websites for a guy and boom this will be my payment!
Gotta love the barter system.
Did yours come with the ashtrays? I've grown to like them....easier for me to do the floating thumb thing...and to mute...then again my hands are pretty chewed up.
Nice pics!

Not a dig at Bill Nash- I've heard and read that his basses are the last word. |

are they vintage spec, as in being a thin rosewood veneer or are they of the more modern slab style RW boards?

Check the neck joint on the real '64 versus the CAR nash. It appears closer to the 16th fret than the nash. Looks about .33 inch. All things being equal, this would require the bridge to be mounted closer to the edge of the body. This appears to be the case. This would account for the bridge pup to be closer on the nash. |

That one is a little different than typical basses and was made to spec by Nash for a customer in WA. It's a great player and while I have the Fiesta for sale now, I still want to keep the CAR bass. Every Nash I've played is great. Quote:

What a nice bass ...
Enjoy!
