BLADE club! Show your Swiss beauties!

I know there aren't many Blade owners on Talkbass, but still!

I've had my Blade B2 (from 2001) for 4 years now. I bought it for abou $500 in a very small guitar store. They didn't have an idea what they were selling. The bass was a bit dirty, had a very poor setup and REALLY old strings. I gave it a new battery, fresh strings and a good setup. Approximately 2 years ago I also had an Aguilar OBP-1 installed. I love it to death and will probably never sell it.

Together with her 2 Jazz sisters:

I had it autographed my Marcus Miller a year ago:

Put me down for number 2. I'll take pics and post after dinner.

I want to avoid the huge rush of Blade owners.

I had one of those. They're absolutely wonderful basses! I'd buy one again if I had the chance.

Oh, and bmc: you get #2

You can have a number, it counts ashtray #3!

And because the club probably won't get any bigger, we'll just keep posting pics of our stuff.

Like this:

And I'm still GASsing for this one:

Just install Lindy Fralin pickups, Aguilar OBP-1... Yummy...

Add another to the list of Talkbass Blade owners. I have a 1991 Blade Jazz Bass with the older Fender shaped headstock. This one only has 3 pots -Highs, Pick-Up panner and volume (plus the active switch, or at least I assume its ban active switch.). Neck is fantastic - slim and and fast like a real Fender JB but with Ebony fret board. Great Bass for recording - rich and toneful but sometimes lacks mid-range punch when gigging in acoustically poor venues. Anyway - still love this bass - doubt I'll ever sell it. Perhaps the only downside is that its incredibly heavy - fair to say the heaviest bass I've ever picked up and I always end up with stiff neckand aching back the morning after long gig!

You guys have a funny way of counting in the Netherlands... how many #3's do you have until you get to 4?

I think he's getting close.

Either that or he's a really drummer posing as a bass player.

I have a drummer living in my house. The intelligence jumps over a little.

Thanks.....I was working here in Japan with a company called Bossa Bass that had good connections with Tune company during the 90's....when they had the contract with Gary Levinson to produce them here at the factory near Nagano.....the first couple batches they used the best materials.....not really wild about the electronics but they were very popular for about 5 or 6 years then they stopped making them here.....I had bought about 5 or 6 of them including one of few fretless jazz basses.....With the Sadowsky stuff inthere, they play like a dream and the woods are very settled in.....

Still you can find Blade basses here going for very cheap.....
