??Body Wood Comparison??
I'm looking to piece a bass together. Tired of struggling to find one that fits me from a factory when that is virtually impossible without paying close to $5,000.
I love the sound of warwicks with the bubinga body. However, it seems to be virtually impossible to find a bubinga body anywhere. I can find necks all day long,(which is what I'm going with, with a wenge fingerboard), but I can't find a body. So, my next option is to find one that is similar in tone. I've looked at several different websites showing gauges and things comparing certain woods together. I've been leaning more towards walnut since it was gauged the same, but does anyone have experience using a walnut bodied bass? And if so, how does it sound in comparison to a bubinga body, or just how does it sound in general?
