Yeah, the last few days I was flipping back and forth between the Bongo and a natural maple Fender jazz V 5 but the Bongo seemed too perfect. After really learning about the instrument it seems really incredible for the price. I sound like a bongo obsessed crazy and I've yet to even play one, uh oh.

I guess I'll have to bust out the DSLR I've neglected lately. Also if anyone wants specific pictures or angles let me know. There's a lack of different angled Bongo pictures on the Internet. I guess the front view is always just too good.

Okay guys, this bass is ridiculously fantastic. I have no idea how to properly utilize the electronics/eq yet and I've still found a ton of amazing tones. This thing has so much power. I'll get some pictures up soon.

HURRAY!!

About the EQ, i think it was Sterling Ball who said a little goes a long way! The Bongo has a very powerful EQ, and is very responsive to right hand technique, so definitely spend some time with it!

Oh and Mr. Alvabass, you are very welcome! I bow to thee!

What is really great is that you don't need to fiddle with the on-board EQ to get a great tone!

My New Ball Family Reserve Bongo!

Picked this up from Dan! Here's a shot with my other Ball Family Reserve. The all rosewood neck, adds some mids to my ears...love it!

Nice basses and very photos!

I didn't know about those all redwood MM necks. Are they made from a single piece of wood, including the fretboard?

Thanks! Not the fretboard is a separate piece. Here's what the backs look like:

I waited a long time for my Bongo (10 months). It's just a plain Jane Sapphire Black (I had to take what came in), but it's a wonderful bass.

I've had about 4 or 5 Stingray's, a couple Sterlings (love them and am seeking another), Jazz, Precision, Lakland (still have them all), and a Rickenbacker. I have a bad habit of selling, trading and buying basses, but I honestly have no desire or urge whatsoever to part with the Bongo. The looks had to grow on me though as I didn't really warm up to the aesthetics. I put up with a lot of slagging from my band buddies as well (on the looks). I have to be honest and say that I only kept the Bongo because of how well it played and sounded (am I shallow or what?). It really is a well designed instrument and a pleasure to play. I still am indifferent about the looks though .
