Bought a Warwick Star Bass on the fly..

Watched some youtube and bought one on the fly on *b*y! Tell me I did the right thing...killer deal. Hope it is what I think it is. Seems like one of the best semi's out there and I am not a Warwick fan... Please help me feel good about this purchase. I was going to get an Epi JC...

That has more gold than a jewelry store! Looks very classy with the white binding! I think once you play it, you will love it!

You bought it, play it. If you don't like it, no amount of coddling from the fanboys is going to make you feel any better or worse about it.

Very nice. How much did you pay?

I love the JC's, especially with the thin neck, but the Star is probably more versatile. There are some great youtube videos showing off the Star's tonal capabilities.

$745 shipped! No case or gig bag but I probably have something that will work.

I've been gassing for one of these. I was able to play one of the German ones recently and it was really sweet. I'm a fan of other colors vs. the gold, but that's just personal preference. Looks like a great find. Let us know how youi like it.

I have no idea about value, but great looking bass (I like the gold). Is this a German one?

Great demo! Your other ones are too...you can hear the differences in all the instruments, but you can also hear the player.

$475?! Where is this made? I'd get 2! The black/white binding is a very nice touch.

Someone else asked what the neck was like. +1 As an owner of a Dolphin Pro I NT, I would assume a rounded, warwick baseball bat neck.

ThumbyAche,

Congratulations, man!

You've picked up a very fine instrument, and the color is very striking in my opinion. We had an identical Star come through our shop and believe me, they are a TON of fun to play. Great sound too! Personally, I love the semi-hollow/passive electronics vibe...it killed me to see that one go...

Anyways, enjoy mate! Please be sure to share some photos here when it arrives. Also, know you can always call us at Warwick NY should you have any questions, or want to speak to one of our experienced techs -- (212) 777 6990.

All the best,
Jesse, Warwick USA

My bad, $745 not $475.

Ahh, found it on the Warwick site apparently it is made in China.

The new ones are made in china and are short scale. The Star Basses up until last year were made in Korea.
