It'll soon be on it's way to Virginia Beach! I would not be surprised if I order another one in the future.

I'm hoping that the more people are exposed to this model, it will gain momentum in the marketplace, because it truly is under-appreciated.

Thanks for the nice words Bob. Carvin did a great job with these basses and I as well would love to see them in more players hands. I keep being blown away at how versatile they are in so many styles of music and with different strings. Because of the 18 volt circuit board and the piezo pick-up option, you can even use nylon strings on them without using the magnetic pick-ups at all if you wish........

Yo Mr. Grateful! Well it was a true brain fade moment. I got tripped up taking my pajama pants off and lost my balance. As I was going over I put my hand down on the first thing I could see in arms reach to brace and stop my fall, that unfortunately turned out to be my carry on bag.........with wheels! All of my weight and momentum ended up on my carry on bag but on the side with the wheels. The bag just shot out across the room and I went straight down and all of my weight hit the hard wooden floor. Insane pain, truly overwhelming. I was on the floor for an hour and could not even get on my knees. I needed to be put on a board by the paramedics and taken to the emergency room.

That was a month ago already and it is still brutal. I have to wear a huge brace for another two months and can't play my upright bass for at least another two months. Going effing nuts! I can play my electrics as long as I don't use a strap, keep the brace on, and keep it on my knee. Who would have thought that 31 years after my initial design on my B2 basses the fact that the design of the bass with the lower horn that rests on your knee so easily would be a Godsend as it keeps my bass on my knee without a strap or needing to work so hard to find that "balance" place on your leg? I just find that interesting.

I'm actually very lucky that my breaks are on the front part of my L1 vertebrae vs. the back part near my spinal cord, or I could be in real trouble.

The good news is that since I can't gig for awhile I can spend more time working on www.bassonthebroadband.com radio station, my true labor of love.

Thanks for asking and I hope you guys are doing well? When is your next gig?

I have been out of the reading loop on your bass, Brian, so this is the first I have read about your fall. Glad to hear it wasn't as bad as it could have been, and it seems you are taking it in stride. You must be a clairvoyant regarding the shape you conjured up so long ago!

If this is an active/passive module, it likely came with humbuckers. If that's the case, then it is an Icon preamp, not a 'Bromberg'. I just went through all this with Carvin a few months back.

It's still a killer preamp...

That's crazy! This has to be the most severe luggage/pajama injury I've ever heard of! Why won't they let you play the upright? Is it a position thing or a weight thing or what?

Everyone is good. Our next gig may be 12/21 in Reseda (I'm in a different band doing blues & rock with an amazing female singer). I'll PM you if it happens!

And FWIW, I've enjoyed the heck out of Compared to That. It has gotten me through my work day many times....

U$ 100 ! Carvin's custom prices are great ! Other companies will charge you more than U$ 500 just for some blocks inlays ! At Carvin's workshop you could have for 500 :

Flamed Koa TOP 200
5 piece neck 100
Abalone Blocks 80
Low Wide Dunlop Frets 15
Hipshot bass D Tuner 50
Flamed Koa Headstock 60

This is a very very good custom combo for 500 !

Thanks
