I have and love my Mustang bass!! But would like to add another shorty to the line up. So i was thinking either a Bronco or the EB-O. I like simple striaght forward basses. I have no need for more than 1 pickup. Mods i would like to do would be better pickup, tuners, strings, cosmeticts.
Bronco
Pro's:
1. Price 50 dollars cheaper.
2. Same size and feel as my mustang.
3. Cheaper to mod.
4. ??????
Con's
1. Same size and feel as the Mustang.
2. Limited pick gaurd options.
3. ??????
Eb-O
Pro's
1. Very different look and tone.
2. more options for pick guards.
3. ???????
Con's
1. Neck dive?
2. I hear pickup and tuners are more expensive.
3. ???????
What do you all think? If other what do you suggest?

I went to Bass pro shop and to my surprise they didn't have a single bass guitar.

Fender-ish parts are MUCH more prevalent than Gibson-ish modding components.
Also, people seem to like putting blade-style high-output guitar pickups in Broncos. Even more fun options! |

Added a TBird neck, putting humbucker lipstick pickups in it, then possibly a single lipstick pickup at the bridge.
Putting a Danelectro bridge on it, then a bridge cover. I'll probably add a thumb rest (and possible tug bar) as well. |

I very strongly recommend the Bronco. I've got one that I modded extensively (neck and mid GFS Hot Rails, series/parallel switching, 19mm bridge (don't use the musicmaster one) and Gotoh-style tuners). It's pretty darned awesome.
Let me know if you'd like any specifics.
Bob

However due to money and time issues, I went with Bronco and TBird neck.
At the moment there hasn't really been an update because my thoughts change daily but I'm pretty solid in those previously mentioned ideas. Maybe I'll update that thread.
I'm going to paint the body white and the neck is a goth TBird neck in solid black. Then I'll have black hardware (minus the bridge cover). I think it's going to look nice once I finally get to finishing it haha. |
