Just got the word from the man. He suggested mapping a price around/near $1200 for the Brute SC-5s. Still a great price. For those of you out there who think it's a little steep and do not have the means readily available; do like I do. Save a little each month and before you know it, you'll be ordering your new Brubaker Brute SC-5. If you saved $200 a month and started now you could have one by July 2012. When I was younger I easily spent more than $200 a month on women and partying. if you're gigging this is really obtainable in let's say three months or so. These basses are really not out of reach if you really want one. And of course there's the credit card. maybe an outstanding and loving girlfriend or wife :-)

You could "service" older, rich women and get there much quicker than July.

Just to set the record straight, single cut MSRP = $1199. Will be available in the standard Brute colors along with a tobacco burst and merlot.

New color options for standard Brutes include the blue and tobacco double burst.

I just viewed your NAMM pics on FB (sent you a friend request as well) and the more I look at the SC Brute, the more I like it! The string spacing is a little wide for me as I prefer 18mm on a 5 string, but either I can get used to it or buy an aftermarket bridge to get more comfy.

Nice bass...sorry I did not try it out at NAMM.

For clarity's sake, is that MSRP or street price?

So it looks like it WILL street for under $1000. I'm not one to say 'I told you so'...but....

That's awesome. Perfect price point if you ask me.

Yeah I forgot about the cougar thing. I'm an old man so a cougar for me would be a Senior Citizen. Ouch :-). If the SC-5streets for a G or so that would be awesome. I think I want one just like my MJX5 in terms of color combo. Black and maple.

Does this include maple fingerboards as well? I'm subjectivley addicted to maple boards. In my shallow mind they just look perty. In terms of purchasing one I guess we'll have to go through dealers correct?

Another question I have is about the pickup config. Will the soapbars be available as well on the non-headless Single Cuts. If so I'm jonesing already.

There hasn't been much of a pricing spread on Brutes in the past, has there?

Not sure. What is MSRP on the Brutes that are selling for $599? I don't know.

Shouldn't be anything publicly advertised below $630. If there is, I need to know who. Violates the MAP agreement.

A dealer can sell at any price they want, just not advertise it below the MAP.

As for pricing, contact Donovan at Fretspot or JD at Corner Music in Nashville.

Well, the Brubaker website Brute page says "With a sweet suggested street price of $599.00," so $630?

Please clarify $630 for the 4 string right? How much for the 5 string? The listed price for a DC Brute is around $749. So how much will the SC-5 be?

I have an email into Donovan at Fretspot. I hope he orders enough to handle the first onset of orders :-)

The prices on ebay (NY and MN stores) are all over the map. A 4 banger with cutom pickguard $685 neighborhood. 5 banger with plastic guard $685. Should'nt be too much of a spread on the SC's as there is no custom pickguard option offered.
