This will be my third Brubaker Bass and first USA Made. I'm stoked. Update, the red one is not available. I'm going to get a fresh build!!!!!!!!

I've got USA Brubaker in the works as well. Quote:

It shipped direct from AP Intl and was very nicely set up right out of the box. It is red, which isn't a color listed in the brochure - I wonder if mine is older stock, or is red just not a listed color?
I also was wondering if anyone knows if Brutes with MM pickups are wired for coil-splitting or not, or is it hit and miss?
I know I should just look for myself, but was too busy playing yesterday to open it up |

I've got USA Brubaker in the works as well. | I'm getting a standard, nothing custom on it as I have my eye on a custom Glasstone speaker config. The extras for the pretty stuff will go towards a customized 2x10 stack called a Slap G. Hint I love to slappa that bass. I'm gonna see if I can get a standard however with my own suggestions for wood combo. For example, ash body, ash neck maple board. That thing will hit very hard when slapped.

I know I should just look for myself, but was too busy playing yesterday to open it up | The MM pickup should have come with the ability to spilt the coils. On my single cut I had a three way coil splitter installed. The options are front coil/series/rear coil. When I run the neck SC and the rear coil on my SC I'm in JB slap tone heaven. You won't be able to tell until you pop the top. If is not the right pickup for coil splitting just contact Tom Richards and he'll send you a replacement. The coil spitter adds magic to an already incredible bass IMO. I plan on doing the same to my black MJX5 once I recover from my KXB5 build. Are you the guy that won the bass in the recent contest? Congrats by the way.

Congrats by the way. | Nope, not a contest winner here, but that's OK - I'm just glad to finally get my hands on a Brute. I tried to get one a back in the fall and there was a bit of a snafu with UPS destroying it in shipment and then a replacement was unavailable, so I gave up for a while.
I guess I'll have to open her up and check this weekend - fingers crossed that I will be set up to split. |

| | | Hello all! I'm a recent contest winner of a new Red/White MMJ Brubaker Brute! Just got my new baby last Friday. Thanks to Brubaker and the folks at Teach Me Bass Guitar!!!!!
I was wondering about hardshell cases. I've tried with little luck thus far to find a hardshell case at my local guitar stores. The headstock cants back too far to fit well in the cases I've tried. I looked this morning and it appears Brubaker has a hard case for the Brute, but I wanted to see if anyone had one of these cases and could comment on the quality. |

No problems with the tilt-back headstock not fitting. The Brute seemed kinda shorter then others in the case, but it fit well/snug/safe.
If I remember correctly, it was this one.

Tom | I'd wondered about that white pickguard.... I really love it. Makes the bass really pop! I've taken a few photos, but photobucket is blocked at work, so I'll try to get some up when I get home.
I actually found the High Studio last week and ordered a case last Friday. Jesse was super nice and kind enough to double-check the fit for me. I got the case on Saturday (how's that for service!!!). It's a really nice case. The guitar fits great and the quality of the case is fantastic! |

Bass specialties in PA.

Titania, I dig that white pickgaurd!
I was thinking, is anyone getting a Single Cut in 4 string? I know most people play 5 string Brutes (double cuts, that is), and I haven't heard of ANYONE who wants a 4 string SC. It almost seems like this market of bass players doesn't even use a 4 string anymore....
