Building A Custom Bass
 

Hey everyone, new here to TalkBass I have a really quick question...I have a Fender Squire that I don't want to get rid of because you know, it's my first bass. However, I would love to give it some new parts, maybe even just change everything minus the body for nostalgia's sake. What I'm wondering is, can I change the neck with other kinds of Fender necks or can I only exchange it with Squire necks? Thanks!

It's always a craps shoot with necks. Even Fender neck heels vary slightly from year to year. Typically, you can get the neck to fit with only a little bit of sanding, however.

you can, but you might need to sand it a little bit.

If I had a spare bass, I'd just turn it into a piccolo bass. Just change the strings & adjust intonation.
