Buy the 2010 American Deluxe P-Bass and...

You can sell your Am Std P-Bass, your Am Std Jazz bass. With the the Am Deluxe P-Bass, you only need one bass.

Please let me know if you agree or disagree with this statement - and why.

Preferably, you will either own the Deluxe P-Bass or have hands-on experience of it.

I have yet to see a P\J in any form take the sonic place of a regular Precision, Jazz or vice versa.

I hear ya but.....

Your diehard Jazz bass guys will disagree with you but I hear what you are saying. You get a lot of the Jazz bass sound with that configuration, but not exact plus some guys love the Jbass neck and body style.

The Deluxe P prior to 2010, the one with to humbucker bridge pickup, can emulate a String Ray vide to some extent in addition to some resemblance to the Jazz sound. That was a very versatile bass.
