That is a very nice looking bass. If I were you, I would just start playing the crap out of it and try to bond with it. But I have never liked modding instruments. I draw the line at only changing the pickguard and strap buttons. Beyond that, I keep it the way I bought it and play it.
It's funny how, when you get past the cosmetics, how you start to appreciate an instrument. If you can't, then you should just sell it and get one you want. But make sure before you pull the trigger.
