Place your bets!
Stacey's bass is killler... I need to get my hands on a four string version. Tim if you are reading this, I wouldn't mind trying out a four string passive Junk if you have a spare one lying around, it can be active... as long as it has a boost only preamp with a global tone knob and and can be active/passive with the standard jazz layout!
Peace,

If you ever come in my neck of the woods again Chris I would like to get my hands on your Elrick... I got rid of the Human Base if you didn't know, I traded it for a "sweet & light" Lakland DJ4 with Lindy Fralin pickups in it. I haven't played a better four string jazz style bass than my buddy Heath's Mike Lull, I love it.
Keep me in the loop if you are ever in town Bro. even if you don't have any gear with you. I always have to hear it from Stacey a couple of days after the fact, not cool!
Peace,

This bass along with my Elrick and a Nordstrand NX-5, were to be show pieces for my ash business. I had plans to go to trade shows and become a NAMM member and these were going to be displayed as examples of my wood. The CallowHill was the one I was most excited about. |
tell me more about the hidden wenge block. are you saying it is inlayed in the neck under the fretboard or are you talking about in the bottom fretboard...the side that is glued to the neck? |

There was to be a channel routed out before the FB went on. In this channel a piece of wenge was to be inset and left to cure, then cleaned and retrued, after which the slot for the truss rod would be routed, installed and capped with the fret board.
He said it would give the neck similar properties of wenge along with keeping the look of the maple. |
