Can anyone be sure what this is? lol
local craigslist item that I thought I might go take a look at. Figured I would let the experts see if there is something that gives it away.
Says the headstock labels have been scratched off but the neck plate is stamped made in japan.
Im sure the neckplate was made in Japan. The rest of the bass??? Take a picture of the back of the headstock. detail of the neck the paddle blend. Neck pocket. Back of the body detail on the treble side.

No one would scratch the Fender logo off a MIJ bass. They may do this to a Squire and stick a Japan neck plate on one?😏

I believe there were some MIJ Squiers. Can you get the serial number?

A friend of mine scratched the Squier name off of an amazing (though heavy as crap) P bass MIJ that I have now. It was very common a decade or so ago.
