Can someone put a date range on this Fender P , tonight?
I know my Jazz basses, but have never been a P-bass guy... until this thing showed up dirt cheap nearby.
Trying to figure out if it's a legit Fender. IF so, I'm trying to figure out how old-ish it is. There's one more photo showing the neck plate but there's no serial number or "F" visible from the distance of the pic. I'm waiting for more info.
All you This is ALL I have on this thing for now; again, I'm waiting for more info from the seller.
All you nocturnals chime in.....

Probably legit. Late 80's or early 90s MIM Fender.
This is an inexpensive starter type bass.

Serial will be up with the headstock logo. Agree it looks like standard MIM from the early 90's.

Thanks guys. I'll be dropping that $100 bill for it on Friday then; might as well add a P to the collection, even if it has a Mexican accent.
Info much appreciated............ cheers

knobs say Mexican and early 90s. they do have poplar bodies not alder like the newer mims. that does mean it will be lighter than a new mim so that could be a plus.

that's an early 90's Mexican squire that probably has the little squire logo at the end of the headstock sanded off, decent bass for sure.
