Can you buff out that 'shiny' worn finish?

There's an MTD 535 that I am interested in acquiring, but I hate it when they have that 'shine' from being played. Is there any home remedy to this?

You can put that dull "scuff" back on it with some steel wool.

I seriously wouldn't take steel wool to a $3000+ bass without knowing what I was doing. Mike returns email pretty quickly.

DO NOT USE DRY STEEL WOOL

The process of using abrasives to change the sheen level of a finish is knows as "rubbing out." Here's a link to a tutorial:
