Or, yours can be like 99.9% of the FG Rics out there. It is the "classic" look.

However, gold pickguards look really great on a variety of Ric finishes.
So...my vote is neither tort or white. |

About the TRC: That's the thing where I wouldn't have a problem with. It's a break in the design for sure, but I could live with it.
Black was one of my options, too, but I think it would make the bass a bit too dark.
White Perloid was also on my mind, because I really want something different. I had white PG's on almost all basses I played and/or owned for the last three years.
I played around with a few colors today, gonna post the results tomorow because I don't have them here right now.
Thank you for all the posts and votes so far, read every single one! It's interesting to read. Seem's to be an interesting topic, pickguards an RICs. Please continue! | Sometimes I think being able to see the wiring doesn't look too bad at all. Depends on the look you're going for, though.
Tort I'm very... skeptical of anyway, but on a Rickenbacker bass I really can't stand how it looks. Might look okay on one that was finished white, though.
Black I'm not really a fan of on fireglo Rickenbackers. For that finish I pretty much only like the white pickguard. |

I too vote white. It just looks "right" |

White pearl would be the the other voice to add some panache but still look 'Rick correct'.

I too vote white. It just looks "right" | Yep, that's what I did. Voted tort but then saw the thread and the pic and I think white looks better. But on my midnight wine colored Jazz bass I replaced the stock white PG with a Fender tort PG and I really like the change. I've been going back and forth on my blizzard pearl colored Precision bass which has a white PG, as well as my lake placid blue colored Stratocaster which also has a white PG. Thinking about going all tort...but I think the white looks better on the Ric in the original post. That said, I love the tort on the natural finished Ric in the other pics above...
