This is my new Carl Thompson .
This is one of Carls most expensive and over the top basses he has built,it's referred to as the 'SNAKEBASS", it's made of almost all Snakewood, one of the most expensive and rare woods to purchase (harder than Ebony) and is also far above his well known 10 Million dollar basses. it will be shipped to me until the end of the week ! Some pics of the finishing process. I'll post pics of the bass finished next week ! I hope you enjoy !
t's not a custom ordered bass ! It was made by Carl himself ! He made this bass as one of your "Unique Creations" , he didn't make it to a specific person.
t was offered to me because I was wondering to place a custom order , and he just told (through "The Low End") me about it .So I was in the right place at the right moment and he made me an offer.
There are a lot of Snakewood on this bass. Snakewood are expensive and rare to find. It's very difficult to find piece larger than 0.7"x0.7"x5" , and this is not just any Snakewood. This is a High Grained ones , the AAAAA ones.
Thanks
In building process

But seriously, that's an unbelievably gorgeous bass. Nice one!

Some of his basses are over $10 million dollars? Serious? I'm having a hard time believing and comprehending that.
