should I just get the number of the san diego showroom and be like "Yo carvin, hook a brotha up?"

I finally got my DR Hi-Beams on last night and the SB sounds so much better now! It sounded good with the factory nickels, but the DR's brightened it up just the right amount. I am absolutely loving the sound now.

Sweet! Been wondering about what strings to try on mine when it comes. I want to try to like the Carvins since they'll be new strings, but I might have to order some Circle K's or DR's.

Has anyone posted any videos or clips of a shootout between the standard models and the chambered? Thinking about going in on another 4000 sometime this year and making it chambered, for my shoulder's sake.

Hey Corey, you know I'll post in the doom thread once my chambered one comes. I can do sound now too thanks to soundcloud.

Its Here!

My SB 4000 finally arrived! Really am impressed with fit, finish and playability. The birds eye board and headstock is very cool.
The only issue is that it was supposed to have an ivory nut, but kudos to Carvin who without hesitation said they would arrange a pick up and they would correct the oversight. Played it at practice last night and I am very happy I decided to give Carvin a go.

Thanks. I really am digging this thing. Never had experience with Carvin, but glad I ran into this thread. Also really happy I saw Jarret's bass with this color because I am loving it.

Carvin rocks, and that color with the birds eye is off the hook. I don't think the pics are really conveying what it looks like standing in front of it. Congatulations!

Thanks, you are right, the pics are not very good. The birdseye is as nice as my USA lakland and I did the headstock the same. Even the diamond inlays don't show up very well in the pics

mikeluch...nice color combo, looks good. I have a really hard time capturing the birdseye board/headstock on mine as well, but it looks so nice in person.

Alright so I'm going to the nearby santa ana showroom tomorrow and if they have an sb series that I can roadtest and if all goes well, i'll be calling flock back with an order
I would most likely get a quilt maple top, but should I go with/ what are the differences between, a koa or alder body. I know that koa is more $$ and looks better but honestly what is going to show is the maple...
