Well, regardless of numbers, these are nice basses for sure.

The funny thing is that the Marcus Miller Tribute is less like the actual bass Marcus is known for and plays. I mean, he made a bass closer to Marcus's ..and it was called just an Update 4 in natural with no top.

Beautiful bass though and probebly as rare as they come.

Good point, but in some ways it is more like a Marcus bass, reverse gear tuners and special wind pickups.

I hear she's in good hands, and has Ari's old solid ash Marcus tribute keeping her company. Any way you slice it, these things all just magnificent.

Good catch, Ari!

Wow! But it says he's not building for a while, right? I hope he can pick up the back orders etcetera soon But it's good news that he's reachable again!

And since there's no Celinder in sight on this page, I will go for a repeat.

And this is my favorite Celinder ever ever ever ever:

Found an old recording my wife and I did one night after a few cocktails.

Most importantly it is a live take with me playing my old Celinder Update! Gives you an idea of the tone recorded direct with no processing.

Nice work - I can confidently say that this does not reflect the tone of a Celinder Update in my hands - this is so much nicer

Damn - Now I have those Celinder blues again & have seen a lovely J Update I really like the look of that's for sale. . .

It was the traditional greengrove pre, I'm not sure if the pickups were hum or not, standard Celinder pickups

I believe the exact bass I used to record this with is now for sale at thelowend.net, black with black blocks, weighs a freakin ton but sounds huge.

That'll be this one:

The last one I had was pretty heavy as well - Chris does like his weighty Danish ash doesn't he

Ya those are the humcancelling Armstrong pups standard on Celinder Updates..and I think other models too. They sound great with the Greengrove. The thing to ask re the pre is if this bass has the dip switches or not. I have one with and one without the dip switches. Both are slightly different versions of the Greengove CP III- A.
Just a note- dropping Duncan Antiquities in my Update 4 made it sound even more like a Fender..they are not humcancelling and have exposed pole pieces.
