Can't believe I got a Marcus tribute in this condition!!!!!! | Hey congrats.. I've owned 7 of them, how many for you ?? |

| | | | Well, regardless of numbers, these are nice basses for sure.
The funny thing is that the Marcus Miller Tribute is less like the actual bass Marcus is known for and plays. I mean, he made a bass closer to Marcus's ..and it was called just an Update 4 in natural with no top.
Beautiful bass though and probebly as rare as they come. |

Beautiful bass though and probebly as rare as they come. | Good point, but in some ways it is more like a Marcus bass, reverse gear tuners and special wind pickups. |

Most importantly it is a live take with me playing my old Celinder Update! Gives you an idea of the tone recorded direct with no processing. https://soundcloud.com/portraitoftracy-1/1shadowofblues

The last one I had was pretty heavy as well - Chris does like his weighty Danish ash doesn't he

They sound great with the Greengrove. The thing to ask re the pre is if this bass has the dip switches or not. I have one with and one without the dip switches. Both are slightly different versions of the Greengove CP III- A.
Just a note- dropping Duncan Antiquities in my Update 4 made it sound even more like a Fender..they are not humcancelling and have exposed pole pieces. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
