CIJ 70s RI good deal or rip off?

Hello I was talking to one of my dads employees and he had a 02 cij 70s ri p bass he wanted to sell me for $550 with deluxe gotoh tuners and lace sensor USA pups question is its a little beat up so is it a decent deal or a rip off

Thanks for the replies it plays great and sounds wonderful I currently have a epiphone eb-3 so it would be a upgrade. As for $500 I tried he's firm at $550

Forgot to take a serial # photo and the neck was fine the neck had a scuff at the top.

I would buy that bass. First, they will never make any more of them. Second, its a custom or rare color. Third, it will be as good as a US made one.

Yup, if it played good and I liked it, i would pay the man 550 for it.

Just buy the thing and be done with it. Don't be hung up over $50 because if it's a fantastic bass, that $50 won't mean anything a few years down the road if you still have it.

You think later on even with it beat up I could resell it for what I paid for? I know nothing of the used instrument market.

They typically go for $450 to $550 used. I'd offer $450 to account for the paint gouging. You'll have no problem recovering that if you decide to sell.
