Glad to see so many happy people. If you play the same instrument for years, it kind of starts to sound exactly he way you want it to play. I like the way marcus and Anthony Jackson play the same bass for years and it just turns into the persons character. Every time they pick up there bass you know who it is when they play. Just by listening.

Coming up on my 2 year anniversary with my LG5 next month.
I love the bass just as much as I did when I first got it.
Playing it tomorrow at our 3rd annual Alzheimer's benefit/
Christmas party.

I'm on a similar timeline. Coming up on two years since I got my first LG5 as well. I've been pretty relentlessly playing AC's since. They are fantastic!

I'm on the waiting side as well....my truss rod was trying to come up through the board of my TB LM5 and I sent it back to Jimmy. He says he's going to build me a whole new neck so hopefully it won't be too long!

4 years for me this year and I've never been so content with a bass. I've always loved the idea of having a bass for the rest of my life with all its little nicks and bruises showing a lifetime of playing by just me...and thanks to Jimmy, now I've got one! There's magic in these things!

Hi everyone,

I interest to buy AC Tom Barny 5 Strings and this is spec:
- Ash Body in Olympic White
- Brazlilian Rosewood and should have blocks and binding,
- 18mm Bridge Spacing and a narrow nut, so the neck profile is narrow as well.
- Alleva-Coppolo narrow specing pickups with preamp.

Anyone,Could u review or suggestion me about this model please?

Sound of this bass like LG or LM ? and Price of New and Used?

Thank u

Note
That is a TALL order my friend

Not likely that EXACT bass is for sale anywhere, NEW or USED is my guess.

If such a model existed USED it likely would be close to selling price as a new one--seeing that the AC line hold their value real well--when rarity, specs and condition are factored in------ IMHO
MOST AC owners become real attached to these rare hand crafted instruments I notice on this forum, and that includes myself
My humble suggestions:
a. Contact the Maestro (JC) himself on PRICING, and availability. AND,---BUILD TIME. I have a colleague who ordered in March 2011 and still waiting. Too-- make sure about PRICING/AVAIALBILTY of Brazilian Rosewood AND if it can be in fact shipped internationally to you
b. Talk to Bass San Diego. They are approachable, and have accurate and up to date info on AC basses new and used, I personally find. They also sell a lot of NEW and USED AC basses.
c. There is an Italian retail shop that HAD HAD a couple of AC --LM 5's from NAMM 2012 on their site.

That is my 2 cents worth anyways.
There are cats here on this site more in the know, and closer to AC basses and Jimmy's camp than myself, that may be able to proffer more accurate and helpful information, per your request.

GOOD LUCK

Hey Note,

Well, I hate to break it to you but Jimmy isn't willing to put a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard on an Ash bodied bass... Whatever he has left he is reserving for LG's (w/ Alder body)... To keep the integrity and intent of each model; I suppose. Now, he does make LM's with "regular" Rosewood boards, but being he doesn't have much Brazilian left, I can understand why he would want to save them for LG's and keep that 60's thing intact.

You didn't mention what pickup spacing you wanted, but with an Ash body the only option is 70's. For me, LM's w/ Rosewood boards sound like LM's with just a tamer high end. You won't necessarily get the warmth and midrange punch like you would with an LG. This is my opinion having played probably close to 100 A-C's, but I'm not that great in describing tone so I'll leave the details for others.

You'll need to do research for used pricing and get a hold of Jimmy for new pricing.

Btw, Jimmy has a new TB LM5 available (Natural Ash, Maple board w/ Blocks & Binding) Reach out if you're interested... jimmy@allevacoppolo.com or call the shop at (909) 981-9019.

Good luck!
