I'm also on the waiting list for another LG5. It's been a very long wait but I think its almost finished.

I love the bass just as much as I did when I first got it.
Playing it tomorrow at our 3rd annual Alzheimer's benefit/
Christmas party.

I got it from Kirk; I still use it regularly, though it's part of a 5 deep rotation, really.
I think it was the last NYC made bass, fwiw.

Note | I've played a ton of ACs with the different boards and each wood type has their own somewhat different character...I've yet to play one that I flat out didnt like. However ,I have to admit I'm partial to Brazilian...it provides such a nice balance of definition and high end clarity without sacrificing the warmth of rosewood. I really love it and (at least to me) has been worth the upgrade . |

Note | Either one would be great. I have both -- I'd probably buy the Brazilian one given the choice. |

But as always, I will defer to those with more detailed ears and know just how to describe what they hear.

Anybody know the value of a mint condition AC LG4 classic with Nitro paint now?
How much does Jimmy sell the new one now? How long is the wait?
Thank you for any info you can share.

This has been a very difficult decision but my wife really needs it.
Hopefully I will be able to track it down when she becomes successful.
If anybody is looking, please check the classified as a 2011 LG4 Classic from Bass Player Live has just become available.
Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks

I was thinking about selling the KBP5 and picking up
another Jazz (since the LG5 is my only other bass).
When going over the KBP5 I found that the volume
pot needs to be replaced and a couple of other minor
things needs to be taken care of before I make my final
dcision to keep it or not.
I ordered the new LG5 over a year and a half ago.
The Specs are:
Olympic White w/matching head stock
Rosewood Board w/blocks and binding
Tort guard.
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.

Especially with flats on it, it's very hard for me to hear any major differences. Feel wise, the KBP obviously wins, but for what I need a P for these days, any P will do. Hell, I turned it around and got a Fodera out of it!! IME/O, I think the true AC magic is in those jazz basses and Jimmy's pre which I still regard as one of the most organic, natural sounding pres out there. No offense Kirk! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
