Blue burst

Well, George said it had something to do with the dye of the color. I remember George and his staff had a rush for NAMM so maybe George wasnt at home when my bass was finished or someone forgot something important when finishing; I donīt know really.

WOW!! That's hard to believe, and a very unfortunate truth!

I bet she still sounds and feels... KILLER

Looks like it went from "Blue Burst" to "Blue Jean" in my eyes, and I think she still looks great, just different. Very noticeable change though... wow.

Man, that is a big difference, hope George worked things out with you, still looks cool though, just different. FWIW my standard translucent red "99" hasn't faded at all in 8 years. Let us know what more info you get from George on it. It just mojo'd at warp speed, and bet it still plays and sounds killer, and if it really bugs you, you could get it re-finished. I'm thinking about doing the poly thing on mine Would George re-finish it for you?

Blue burst

George offered me a respray at Marleux here in Europe but I needed Blue Jean so he offered me money or strings and things.
Being a lefty and ordering the bass with black hardware, birdseye board and dots the total cost was over 5000 USD, (ordered through JAM in Stockholm) so I`m very disappointed to say the least. The ironic thing is that I had my thougths about blue burst since I had a Neuser Cloudburst that was blue from the beginning and turned green over years. Maybe it has to do with the Nitro on these basses. I sent photos of it to George and he said that he never seen that going on on his basses. Well, **** happens. Thank God it sounds killer thou.

I feel for you ursus. When i custom my BN6 for usd$9k two years back, George missed out the laminated wenge/maple neck and sprayed a cherry burst instead of a caramel burst i wanted. He of cos was gentlemen enough to offer me strings, straps and t-shirt... or even a respray if i can wait. But the pain was in taking a long time to finally decide what I want and some is not reversible. (like a lam neck option)

Two years down the road, i must still say the bass kills for comfort and sound. However the pickups are on its way back from nordstrand... fitted with swappable big splits or big singles.

Hope you get your blue jean spray sorted out.

I am totally blown away by the playability, tone and feel of my bass. It's like nothing I've ever played, and a huge step up from anything I've owned. Just Beautiful.

I'll be doing a full review, and will post the link here soon. but for now....

What a classy looking bass! Congrats.

Check out these pics of this bound Fbass. It looks like a flat top instead of the rounded top. Very classic look to it. Is that a sunbrst or tabaco burst? Has any one seen this option before?

This exact bass was one eBay at one time.
Probably a year ago.

It does reminds me of Tom Anderson Guitars. Very classy.

Hope you love it. I don't have any idea what I am doing, that bass sounds amazing. I am regressing to jazz style basses. Thanks for being so patient, bro.

Whoa, sorry it took me so long to answer- I need to check this thread more often.
It has a one piece ash body with a 5A quilt maple top and a Macassar Ebony fingerboard. I think the finish is called 'Auburn Burst' but I'm not sure. It sure turns heads though.
Dean

Hey jmilkey
Man, I was about to PM Adrian to purchase that bass when I saw it was sold. The funny thing is I live in Peoria, so I guess that bass was heading to AZ one way or another.

That is a very nice finish. I have been looking into a BN5 with a caramel burst finish, but I almost like that better. I dont know if the caramel will look decent on ash though. I might have to go with the maple top which is going to almost double the price.

Maple top (maybe)
birdseye board
caramel bust with binding

Dean82,

Thats funny we are both here in AZ and looking at this bass...I've been looking for a while. Going to move my Warwick Thumb NT...Its an incredible bass but I am reinventing my sound...just picked up an IP112 + HT112...oh man that thing shakes my entire house...literally. So my last thing to replace is my preamp...running a BBE MaxT but looking at the Millennia series.
We should have a beer sometime and go check out a band.

Milkman
