So my last thing to replace is my preamp...running a BBE MaxT but looking at the Millennia series.
We should have a beer sometime and go check out a band.
Milkman | Make that Three of us here in AZ! And I also own an IP112/EX112. (But I have a standard HT112/EX112 also) Gary |

Also, I remember seeing a fretted F with the BNF shape??? |

Last I heard, George does not offer this model (L5) any longer. I honestly have only ever seen 3 of them. Jimmy at NY Guitar/Bass Boutique had a natural one about 4-5 years ago. I had my chance at that one but went with my black BN5 (no regrets as it's my main bass). Saw a guy on TB a long time ago that had a purple one and sent him a PM asking him to sell it to me..... I think he was in England. Quote: |

| They are different for sure, even with the Ash/Maple combo being the same my GFC is a little funkier and is brighter sounding. Of course I use DR Fatbeams on that bass instead of the F-Bass/Labella's on my BN5 so that is probably a small difference. The neck shape on the L5 has a flatter profile and is a faster neck for me. Also, the pickups are also spaced out a little different than on my BN5. My L5 is more "marcus-y) IMO and my BN5 has a finger sound that is more to my liking. I love them both the same (kind of like my kids).

But....I would let go of my vintage G&L, Modulus VJ and my Heartfield DR before I let my GFC go.. If you find one of these basses (good luck) then SNAG it quickly. Seriously, the GFC L5's were GREAT basses. Not sure why George doesn't make them anymore.. I should ask him what the story is on that.
