I'm happy to see there is a very cool thread about F-basses!
I currently own a wonderful BN6 with the same pickups configuration used by Alain Caron for slapping (P - P).
Does anyone know why George Furlanetto does not provide this configuration anymore?

its UZEB's last live concert, And Alain is playing a 21 fret studio 6, if you look carefully you can see how the necks were
bolted on like an old fender style bolt on, unlike the set- in bolt on that George does on his current basses. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOqiHcmkfmI
Here's some pic's of my studio six....

Gilsonite, does your Studio 6 see a lot of action with all those new uber-jazzes you have? |

Here's a short sample of my bass: Fbass-slap |

Anyway, I had a birthday Monday and got Dave Hughes's two CDs.
Wow.
These discs should be must haves for all FBass owners.
His playing is great, his compositions are good, but his tone is so great. I REALLY love the sound of his Fbasses.
It is interesting too, but as I first listened to them I was struck by how much more mature his playing and the compositions were on one disc from the other. Sure enough, the disc I preferred was 4 years older.
Anyway, I'm in no way affiliated with Dave Hughes, I'm just an Fbass owner who really loves to hear it when someone knows what they are doing with these great instruments.
