I've always wondered why someone like Fodera doesn't do this for all the $ they are charging.

Great looking bass.
Two pieces? You mean the body and the battery compartment cover?

Soon I'll be playing like I used to....well I hope I'll be much better than that actually.. | Wow, Bob. I subscribed to the other thread too so I could keep an eye on you.
By the way, I've had a surprise this last week, medically speaking. I went in to a neurologist for my EMG for carpel tunnel...
And was told my carpel tunnel was minimal, what's causing the problems is something else. I'm lining up for an MRI now as they think something wrong with my neck. Apparently, it never dawned on me that the problems I'm having in my hands could be related to the pain and numbness I'm having elsewhere 'round my body.
The good news is I've taken that to mean that I can play bass again and just ignore the pain 'cause it ain't going to make my condition worse anyway.

I'm no luthier, but seems to me that I could totally assemble a "parts" bass quicker than I could make just the pickup shells like George does. Not to mention that everything else, down to the knobs are also handmade. There is no cooler bass.

Tom - don't be too distracted by nerve test results. In my experience, the nerve test results DO NOT correlate well with a patient's symptoms. 20% of patients with significant carpal tunnel have normal nerve tests and lots of people with abnormal nerve tests have no symptoms. A good history and physical exam by an experienced hand specialist is much more accurate than nerve test results.
Good luck!

He matched it up so well that you have to look at the edge in good sunlight to make it out! Very slight difference in how the color took to the wood in the dark auburn on the edge.
When I picked it up he grabbed it out of a rack of finished basses, said this is yours, then he said something along the lines of "Is this a one-piece? No, it's two". If he hadn't said that I probably would have thought is was 1-pc to this day. I'm sure I could easily pass it off as such but I'm a painfully honest person! Not that it matters anyway, It's just an appearance thing anyway IMO.

Good luck! | Thanks again, Steve, for your help. I believe you, Steve, but given that I have no confidence in my hand specialist, I'm at a bit of a loss about what I should do with what I'm being told.
I'll write you an email.
Cheers!

So far this has been a great experience - I'll update the other thread with progress.

So the bass is not new to the club, but I would be happy to join ! I hoped to get the 100 ... but couldn't wait...
Some Specs:
Redwood Burl Top
Additional Neck Pickup
High Gloss Finish
and ............ a Through Neck !! |
