I have a question: What is the absolute lowest steal youve seen (Not just once, I mean in general) for an Fbass?
Question asked as for my 18th birthday/Christmas present/Graduation present, I really want a GOOD bass. I love my Fender, and it will never leave me, but I mean one that fits me.
Obviously thats Fbass, as some of you may remember my constant nagging and questioning a few months back. (Donovan and Tom especially!)
I feel awkward asking my parents for such a gift, but they seem to have agreed... kinda. We're going to "talk about it."

Do you know what are the F "Vintage & Custom Finishes Available" or where we can see them?

George has been doing this for decades, so if he doesn't have what you want , I'm sure it isn't a huge problem getting it in.
I sent George the picture below along with a few other examples and asked him half-jokingly if he could do it. This is the picture he worked off of. The other finish I had in mind was solid black. |

I feel awkward asking my parents for such a gift, but they seem to have agreed... kinda. We're going to "talk about it." | I actually saw an older ('80s) F bass go for $14XX on BassNW and one or two in the past 3 months that went for $1800 right here on TB. I was so close to buying the older one but the ACG preamp scared me away.

I actually bought that bass from BassNW and had it sent up to Canada for me! $1499 was too good of a price to pass up. Shipping and insurance was expensive, but I seem to have dodged a bullet with the border fees and taxes, so I definitely think I got a GREAT deal.
The ACG preamp scared me at first, but it's actually growing on my quite a bit now that I've got a few gigs under my belt with the F Bass. I'm saving up for the F Bass preamp but by the time I have the $$, I might be completely happy with the ACG. |
