I was thinking of a C.T. rainbow bass vibe. But I guess that's not far off from 70's inspired decor. |

Hope to upgrade to a pair of Dr. Bass cabs someday. | What a good idea... to post Fbasses with their rigs. I don't have any personal experience with Thunderfunk, but I've read a lot of positive things. I'm confused though. Above the photo is appears that you have two cabs with a 15 inch speaker in each ("2, 1x15 Eastern Acoustic cabs"). Then the line under it makes it appear as if you only have one ("hpe to upgrade to a pair of Dr. Bass cabs someday.")

Could someone take a picture of their BN 5 or 6 from a 1st persons point of view (as if they were playing it)?
I would love to see that. |

I doubt many people in this thread would disagree, but I was struck by how much nicer the tone was on this song with the Fbass BN6 than it was on Victor's recording using his Fodera. Of course, Victor Wooten has come a long way since that album, both in playing and in tone, so it isn't a fair comparison really, but it doesn't take from the fact that Fbasses sound amazing.
Also, I noted at about 2:22 the warbly, chorusy sound we were talking about earlier when you play far up the finger board -- especially on the thicker strings.
Eduard, are you using Fbass strings on this recording?
At any rate, GREAT job. Loved it.

Had an Alembic, got the F, traded the Alembic for the T'Funk and I don't regret it. Very nice head especially with the band. Between the F and the T'Funk I have never had such presence in a band mix.
Eduardxtb: That is a gorgeous ceruse! Very classy looking!
Dave, sorry about the bass mucking up the picture of my shiny new cab! I bought them back in the early 80's you know! Back when you were just a little , snotty nosed...

wood choices for my bass. Here's the 3 different choices.
Choice #1:
Choice #2:
Choice #3:
I went with choice #1. There is a little bit of mineral stain on the back of it but I think
that just adds character to it. Choice #3 is apparently heavier which made me think I
might want that one but #1 just looks amazing.
I could not be more excited. |

I could not be more excited. | I woulda' done the same thing, and yeah, I think that little mineral stain actually looks cool. Awesome grain in that first one. Congrats!! |

I could not be more excited. | Definitely this one!! Number one has the most flowing grain pattern. It's my favorite by far! ...and it doesn't hurt that it's furthest along too! Congrats! What is it going to look like finished? Wouldn't it be cool if someone knew how to do mock ups to show the potential finished product? <nudge nudge wink wink>

*CLICK ON IT TO MAKE IT BIGGER*
Here's the specs:
1.) BN6
2.) Black hardware
3.) Swap ash body (with a specific grain request)
4.) Maple neck and fretboard
5.) Matching swamp ash finger ramp
6.) Recessed straplocks
7.) A style Hipshot bridge
8.) Hand rubbed oil finish
I wanted a very raw minimalist looking bass.
My next F bass will be a little more decadent.
Something more like this:
