Great choice. Marvelous grain pattern and with the P/U covers matching..., yowsa!
Takes me back.
Here's the pic of the body George sent to me when I ordered mine. No choices, just one pic and I said, I guess that one will do!

1.) BN6
2.) Black hardware
3.) Swap ash body (with a specific grain request)
4.) Maple neck and fretboard
5.) Matching swamp ash finger ramp
6.) Recessed straplocks
7.) A style Hipshot bridge
8.) Hand rubbed oil finish
I wanted a very raw minimalist looking bass.
My next F bass will be a little more decadent.
Something more like this: | ...and yes those two guys are in the Fbass club.

specific grain. My first Warwick was kinda ugly. I didn't want to get a
weird grain of ash for my first F bass. George has the most amazing
customer service. You can't find that with anyone else. |

I could not be more excited. | With good reason: 1 is stunning!
So, does that mean #3 is available?

Your BN6 is amazing.
I had asked George before the I even ordered the bass if I could get a more detailed,
busy, and consistent grain pattern. I told him that I've seen a few ash bodies that I didn't
like as much. He said he would see what he could do. I sent him some pictures of grains I
liked and didn't like. I wasn't expecting to get to choose though. |

Tom, Your BN6 is amazing too. I can see what you mean about that fretboard. I'm sure that you have noticed by now that the body is awesome too. The way the P/U covers match is perfect!

I doubt many people in this thread would disagree, but I was struck by how much nicer the tone was on this song with the Fbass BN6 than it was on Victor's recording using his Fodera. Of course, Victor Wooten has come a long way since that album, both in playing and in tone, so it isn't a fair comparison really, but it doesn't take from the fact that Fbasses sound amazing.
Also, I noted at about 2:22 the warbly, chorusy sound we were talking about earlier when you play far up the finger board -- especially on the thicker strings.
Eduard, are you using Fbass strings on this recording?
At any rate, GREAT job. Loved it. |
Hi Tom,
Thanks so much..i really like the sound of the Fbass, so musical to my ears.. and yes im using Fbass string on this Video. |

I will belong to the active users again, I plan to get a bn5.
My bn6 was a great bass, and one of the bass b string ever, and believe me, at the same time, I had a fodera emperor II 5 string and the fbass' b string killed the fodera's b string.
the only thing that I wasn't satisfied was the c string sounded a little bit too thin compared to the others strings.
other than that , I loved the playability , the look and george Furlanetto's work on it.

Thanks |

Thanks | Hi this bass was made crotch walnut.
the finish was like you find on every fbass in bn series I don't remember the name .
the finger board was rosewood and it was really nice especially with a clearer thin line at the first frets.
this bass was really a joy to play and the pup were really matching the top wood (they were details that showed that Mr. Furlanetto took the time to mesure and take the exact piece from the same top on it).
the sound was great for playing bass parts (even though if it was a 6 string).
But the only thing that pissed me off was that the c string sounded too thin, and really not at the same volume as the other strings.
but believe me that one was a hell of an instrument and sometimes I regret it a lot.
also, one of the best b string ever (and believe me I've owned foderas ken smith fenders..... and the list goes on but that one had a great b string)

| | | | Hi black.rose1402,
These are not exactly the specifications of this bass : this BN6 has a Myrtle burl top with a black gain body and a macassar ebony fretbord option.
It was completed begining of 2005 and them ship to France.

Well thank you for telling me!!
I sent an email to fbass in 2006 to have informations about this bass, but nobody replied!
I really thank you for that!!!
sorry for the post above where I say wrong things!!
I used to look at the old fbass webstite and took the names of the closer wood shown.
My bad.
If it's Myrtle burl top as you say, that explains why the slap tone was so great on this bass.
Again thanks for the info, but now I miss it even more
