I think George said he'd put SC's into a BN5 (keeping the shells).

The logo was "bleeded" by the paint.. the irregular contour and spots "eaten" up the shape of the F logo. Does any Fbass owners experienced this as well?
You REALLY need to be talking to George about this, not posting in a web forum.

IMHO.

+1. I know if someone had an issue with me or something I did I'd prefer they talk to me first instead of telling the whole world about it...

I imagine the OP just didn't realize how this could be perceived...

I am going too be part of this band of merry (mostly?) men soon.

God I have always wanted one of these dumb things. Looks like the cards are falling into place. Will keep you posted, I know that you are breathless...

Cheers!

This is a pic of my new Fbass Studio custom. Can I join the club (again)?

Closeup of Fbass vintage bridge. This was George's idea and his own design, thick gauge steel and amazing tone!

47mm nut w/ wide string spacing:

Of course visitors to Fbass get this:

I have been dreaming about owning an Fbass for over a decade and always loved the look of the Studio. After learning a little more about them and how they were different from the BN, I was determined to get one when I got the scratch together. Well, that day came and I am completely floored by the result. Every aspect of this bass has come out exactly as I had hoped, from the light ash body, the wide neck and string spacing (my request)and deep deep neck pocket, this thing sounds like the hammer of Thor, either plugged or unplugged!

Even the finish came out wonderful, and no picture can really do it justice. I asked for a root beer metallic finish and it was that plus a little more; it also has some pearl character to it, changing subtley in the light. Amazing. Anyway, I just took a quick shot of it and gave up.

I vouch for these basses 150%. If you are looking for a super J bass, try and get your hands on a Studio; it will leave you wanting NOTHING.

That root beer Studio is gorgeous. Can you contrast to a BN5?

It didn't selll which was a bit of a relief actually. I think I'll keep it.

The reason I tried to sell it was because I could use the money and my more obscure high end basses weren't moving.

If it's like mine it seems to sound bigger and more aggressive, with the BN5's sounding more refined to my ear. With the 20 fret fingerboard it gives me a perfect position for popping. Fingerstyle just tears it up in the mix. If Fender had made a killer 1970's Ash five string Jazz bass...

Much the same as a BN5 would compare, they're different.
