Can anyone please post or direct me to a clear , close up picture of Alain Caron's purple BN6 with MIDI and the GK pickup . Particularly I would like to be able see his bridge setup and if he is using F-Bass Supersteps strings with that bass . I have a BN6 that currently has the Roland GK pickup and GK-3B controller attached and I am in the process of switching it to the internal GK kit but I am unsure of where to have the pickup positioned . I currently have it positioned right up again the rear pick up I would like to install it right up against the bridge but then the exposed core of the lower strings would extend past the GK bridge and I am worried how that would affect the signal that pickup sees . I mostly use the GK system with the Roland V-Bass and VB-99 . I will attach a picture of my BN6 (with mocked up customization plans ) for reference .
Thanks in advance .

Derek, it appears the pickup seems to be fine with that position and exposed core strings too. Cool, huh?

Talkbass has a limit on the size of a post. You wouldn't think that would be a problem, but the club roster, especially with the underlying code that produces the links to our bass photos, has reached the character limit.
The only viable workaround I can figure is that I'm going to have to break the roster into two posts.
When I get the former Fbass owners list turned back into numbered club members, I'm guessing that there will be about 150 people in the first post, then newcomers will be added to the second post.
It's a bit cumbersome, but I'm glad to do it because it means our club is growing. Fbasses are without question among the very best in the world and I'm glad to have a place for us owners to come together.
Thanks again, George!

Congratulations on the good news, my friend!
As for the BN5 - ya know, I just decided that the money could be put to good use right now. Once I sell a few more basses that I have on ebay, my wife and I will have all of our credit cards paid off! We've had credit card debt since before we've been married (13 years last December). I've had credit card debt since I was 18 (and I'm 36 now)!
So, if anyone's needing anything... http://shop.ebay.com/fretspot/m.html |

Wow! Good call finally dealing with that!!
I rarely carry a balance on a card, and when I do, it's rarely more than 1-2 months worst case. The card companies would probably hate me, but I do still run plenty through the account, so they still get their purchase percentages. My main card is actually a 4.9% APR, but it rarely matters. |
