Ideally I also want to be able to flick the mute on and off at will.
I want everything don't I?
I guess I'll do some more felt and foam experimentation. |

BTW, he can do laser etching, and he etches on bottom so it is smooth on top. He radiuses very well too. Anyway, I had him etch a silhouette of the state of Alaska in my Coppolo ramp. It comes out white and looks cool with the very dark walnut wood under it.

I have a VF5 on order, so I'm not in a hurry to tempted by an AC classic... for now...
Talking of temptation, did you see that gorgeous looking used black fretless VF5 on the F site? | Keep us posted on your VF5.
I love black guitars and basses, but they drive me a bit crazy because of how they show finger prints. I have one black bass and that is enough for me.

He had one of (if not) the first mac BN5's and it looks as scrumptious now as it did then! The tinted birdseye board was what led me to believe it is the same one, but I could always be (and usually am) wrong |

( | That is Macassar Ebony, and the board is Roasted Birdseye Maple. Originally shown at Winter NAMM 2009 I think (Donovan, correct ?).
I haven't seen another BN with a roasted board since then. Anyone else ? |

I guess I'll do some more felt and foam experimentation. | I don't blame you at all for that. When I palm mute, it is only because I want that sound for a portion of the song; I dislike doing it for all songs. Besides, I cannot (may be others can) use a palm mute in a way that sounds like the organic decay of an acoustic upright -- the muting sound happens immediately.
