Club Fbass (Part 11!)

This is a continuation of the previous Club Fbass thread (part 10).

Be sure and use the "Thread Tools" menu to subscribe to this new thread (part 11)!

And as per talkbass.com tradition, whenever a new chapter of a club thread begins, we are all supposed to post photos of our club bass(es), so post them proudly!

Anybody?

Talkbass tradition dictates we all post photos of our club basses whenever a new thread begins. Normally I give a group photo, but I think this time I'll give each Fbass I have its own "in" post.

Here is my fretted Fbass AC6.

I love it for its looks, its aggressive tone, its light weight, and it has the lowest action I have ever seen on any bass anywhere. If I look hard enough at a string, the bass will fret itself at that spot.

Have any BN5 users strung their bass E-C and/or used a Roland V-Bass with the GK3B pickup?

Thanks,

Wally

I received mine about 2 months ago, and have yet played it on a gig due to my health problems, but have taken it out in the past couple of days, and have really fallen in love with it... Mmmmmmmm....F Basses are absolutely fabulous!!!!

I was just going to ask you about this bass...

So is it alder & rosewood with pickups in the 70s positions?

I wish I had a good and accurate way of weighing my basses. Right now I would have to step on my bathroom scale, take note of that number, then have my wife hand me a bass and note the difference, but I'm not sure how accurate that is.

I can step on our scale, step off and back on and get another number.

In other words I don't know, but I'll look into getting something for you.

I'm very sorry to read about health problems (and I can relate). Hopefully this gorgeous fretless 6er gets some gig time soon.

I remember George talking about 1 change.

I'm pretty sure (and hopefully George or Marcel will chime in here with a definitive answer) this is the result of evolution.

I think the VF5 started one way, then evolved to another, then another.

Not that I know of, Wally, but I'm responding so people can see this question again and respond if they can.

Thanks Tom, and yeah, I hope to be back in action soon, but in the meantime, I'll take it easy and get my energy and everything back to a reasonable level....Will be reading and looking in this site and thread for sure, and will keep you guys updated...Will keep on looking and drooling over all of these F's, and hope to maybe get another someday, but will have to sell off a couple of the ones I already have..... Once again thanks for the concern and kind words!!!!

Al
