The older ones have a higher right side, bottom than the new ones and the tuners aren't the
usual Fbass tuners either.

| | | That's funny, I never noticed that, thanks! It's a '96 BN5. It doesn't have the same preamp as the current models, just volume-baland-low-mid-high and an active passive switch. I couldn't care less though, this thing sounds amazing! Like a Jazz bass, but better, fatter. The mids and growl are great, Jaco would have been proud. Best bass I have ever owned, this thing easily smokes all of my previous basses (including Warwick, Pedulla and high end Yamaha's).
The neck of BN5's must be the most comfortable 5string neck I have ever come across, and I love the flamed maple they used on my bass.
She's definitely a keeper. |

Yeah I've owned a few Warwicks too. My Fbass blows them all away without a doubt.

Without saying that Warwick is bad, au contraire; Warwicks are good instruments ....
BUT F-BASSES ARE (MUCH) BETTER!!!!

I also have a 34" AC4, I'll post pics later. | WOW! Alder and rosewood, 60s spacing, nitro cellulose and a vintage, mint '64 Fender bridge?! What an amazing bass this is going to be! What a smart set of specs (and choice of builder). Please keep us up to date on its progress.
Hm, someone in this club has been pining for an AC4, who was it again?
Please post a photo so we can give you a number, and so we can give a guy or two a gas attack!

I haven't owned a Warwick, but I have had high end Yamahas and Pedullas, and I too prefer my Fbasses. That's not to diminish Pedullas or Yamahas by any means, my two Patitucci signatures were my main basses for years, but I just couldn't resist the sound and playability of the BN6 and AC6. Quote:

She's definitely a keeper. | So you still have her then? For some reason I have you on the former owners list, but then again number 40 is inexplicably blank. I'm not sure what's happened, but if you still have your BN5, I'd like to slip you into #40 if that's okay with you.

| | | Yes sir, I still have her and she isn't going anywhere. My uncle, who is a professional bass player, would kill me if I sold it I think.
(for anyone who likes fusion, check him out! http://www.myspace.com/fransvollink )
So yeah, I'd like my number back please! Thanks! And excuse me for my English, I'm from Holland. |

I just emailed George and had him add to the VF4 vintage tint to neck finish. I'm going with a parchement pickguard. |

I was going to suggest the parchment pickguard too, but changed my mind. Didn't want to meddle with your bass, but I will come out in support of what I love about it! This is REALLY going to be a nice bass, I'm way excited about it.

Wow, I'm really digging this music. Thanks for the link. | Thanks for the compliments, I'll pass them to him. He plays a '68 Fender Jazz (lefty! very rare), a Marleaux 5string Jazz Deluxe and a Yamaha BB1100S fretless. He recently got a new fretless, an Otentic Jazzbass (Dutch builder, uses Fender parts). No Fbasses unfortunately, but he loves the tone of mine. |
