And great basses too, Vic. That second clip especially of Jason playing the chambered 535 was nice. I've always loved MTD's clarity.

| | | Seems we have indeed a similar taste To me, the redwood burl is the best-looking top for a AC. And I wanted the additional neck pickup to get some additional tones that are more "deep" like an acoustic bass. |

Also, not only do I like the redwood for how it looks as a top, I'm told that it helps soften the harshness that the piezo can bring to the tone as well.
So it's a floor wax AND a desert topping!

| | | | The fretted one is especially beautiful. If I had to choose another fretted bass, this would be the one. Stunning, and the sound must be amazing. I had a BN5 black ceruse, but I sold it because it was too heavy to play live, my back ached after an hour of playing this 12lbs monster. Sound very nice, though. Edit: yes they are flats, Daddario Chromes. I had to combine the light 4-string set with a lower string... guess it was 40-110.

I have TI Jazz Flats on my fretless AC6 right now and love 'em.
I have a BN5 as well, and a BN6 for that matter, and I guess I don't care how much I ache after I play them. That may change over time, but for now the look, playability and tone are just too good for me to pass on.
I keep staring at the photo of your bass, wishing I had a second magnetic pickup on my fretless. :-/

| | | | I guess it´s not that bad, because you got that little wooden thing, so you can comfortably play on the end of the fretboard and produce a very similar sound which is also very deep and acoustic. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
