I will say thank God for the black hardware. Years ago when I worked music retail, I had a customer with a Warmoth jazz bass. The body was similar to Joey's (trans purple over a flame top). However, the gold hardware was just way too much. | Now isn't gold & purple the main color scheme for French Quarter, right? It seems that it would fit right in for the festivals.
Gold hardware would be too blingy with the purple. I do have two basses that have gold hardware but it seems to go really well with flamed Koa.

Just sayin...

However, I'm very glad you're not doing the matching headstock; something about that with maple fretboards just doesn't look right...perfect with darker fretboards but maple? Nah ah
The figuring on the body is insane though, it's gonna be awesome either way.

I have a white metro pickguard that i would like to "age" a little in colour so it looks more like mint or parchment, is this possible? Because i find the white a little too bright looking against the CAR finish of my RV5 PJ
If anyone has any good ideas / methods let me know
Cheers

Cheers | Good question. I'd also like to age or yellow the white layer on my pickguard. Like the yellowing on this pickguard:

Cheers | Treb is right.
The plastics that are used today for making pickguards is so good that they take many years to change shades. The old ones dried out and took on years of smokey bars, sweat and all the other stuff that changed to colors of white pickguards.
I've tried soaking in coffee, iodine, intense sunlight, yellow and green food dyes and so on to no great affect.
The best thing is to just order a new pickguard in the shade of white that you like.

During the break, I noticed my skin was being shredded because of the sweat...like dishpan hands. So, I switched to my hpj with flats. Made it through the gig with skin to spare. I loved how both my Sadowskys felt so comfortable and interchangeable...like dependable tools that could cover what I needed them to so I could just have fun and not worry about each bass needing a lot of tweaking to sound good. It was more than just playing with different strings, but it was having the consistent controls and feel of the neck. That's why I guess I've standardized on Sadowsky basses.

My Trans Red JJ is a phenomenal bass. It's so perfect, so awesome, so.... Yes, I dare say, "orgasmic"!
Thank you Rob for building a masterpiece. (sigh)

I'm 'bout to the point where my MV5JJ is all I take to a gig anymore.
This, from a guy who always took two, and, sometimes 3 basses to a gig.
