I especially love the violin corner detail on the upper bout - makes what could be a monstrous looking thing look classic. |

That and the inlay are what takes it to the next level IMO. The one thing I might consider changing is flame maple pickup covers instead of the current morado. It was what we originally discussed and I just think it will be a nice contrast to the walnut body.

As a side note, I have four basses on order with Chris and combined they'll only have one more knob than your bass (8) and the same number of switches (4).
Your new Stammie must have a HUGE range of tones available.
I had a couple other pictures to upload so I went ahead and added your Stambaugh to the gallery.
Again, sweet bass. | Thanks!
I have never had a bass that felt so comfortable. The range of sound is awesome too. Exactly what I had hoped for. |

| | | Hey guys! I forgot to contribute to the thread I had taken so much from when Chris delivered my bass (last november)!
This is old news by now if you checked the site in any regularity, as its been up for a while. http://www.stambaughdesigns.com/buil....php?bom_id=19
I've attached a picture of me playing it as well, with the ramp on it and in a more natural light (its darker than Chris's pics).
Although the pics might be nothing new, what I wanted to say is that Chris was a pleasure to work with, and every bit as good as has been hinted at in this thread and its predecessors.
I was really going out on a limb trying to get close to a Hadrien Feraud punch/mid-driven sound with ridiculous action and a ramp. Chris succeeded on every front, filling in my lack of knowledge/experience in bass building when I wasn't sure what would deliver the sound I was after.
Even a year or so after receiving the bass he helps me out with free parts (small things like sanded bridge saddles) and advice any time I ask for it.
Happy to spread the word about this great bass builder any time I can.
PS we all thought it was mildly interesting that the serial is 111111 and the date it arrived was 11/11/11. He paid for it to ship extra fast to be in time for my recital. Champion. |

He will route the buckeye off under the bridge and fill it with more stable wood.
Carnavos: That's stunning! The camphor-topped knobs are a nice touch. And yes, the build quality and the way Chris treats his customers make me recommend him to anyone considering a new bass. |

Well, the washboard just got leveled and dressed, control layout drilled, and now more waiting for the dang preamps to ship in. Side note, this is the first time I've seen the little "violin" horn thing from that angle, and I think Chris made it flow just perfectly.
Oddly enough, I'm pretty sure a few friends of mine are more excited than I am about it coming in, and They want me to attempt to play bass in their band with it... 11 strings... Very djenty deathcore... What strange times we live in. Strange times indeed.
Edit: I also heard somewhere that there was a cable stolen from the Golden Gate Bridge... I think I found it
