Co-conspirator wanted: G&L L-2000 / JB-2 hybrid project

I'm really digging the G&L L-2000, but the stock 1 3/4" neck is too much for me. So before I spring for a custom made US version with a 1 1/2" nut, I'm thinking of mating a Tribute JB-2 with a Tribute L-2000 to get a fat neck JB-2 and a skinny neck L-2000. If I love it, maybe I'll drop the coin for the US model.

So here's my proposition. I'll buy a new Tribute L-2000, and remove the neck. A partner will buy a new Tribute JB-2, and send me the neck from his. He'll get my neck and voila! Franken-Tribs!

If all else fails, I'll buy them both and you'll find a JB-2 with a 1 3/4" neck in the classifieds pretty soon

Anyone think this might be up their alley?

Stingray 4HH inbound ... my dual-humbucker search may be over. Still, I'd like to give this a try, and for the price of a Tribute, it's still interesting. Anyone else?
