KING BISCUIT: THIS IS THE SECOND TIME YOU HAVE MADE DEROGATORY COMMENTS TO OTHER TB'ERS IN THIS THREAD, WITH THE PRETENSE THAT YOU ARE "BEING FUNNY ".

You are not. Suggest you review the applicable rule below and the link to the FAQ for this board.

Because of the limitations of text based communication, the expression of intent can be tricky. One of the most common triggers of rule violations is the misinterpretation of intent behind a post. Use smilies often, and remember, it never hurts to begin a response with "In my opinion"...

It's ok. I too have no allegiance to EBMM. In the past I did own quite a few of their basses, but now appreciate the differences of other brands. I actually only own ONE EBMM and ONE Schecter currently.

You're absolutely right - as I discover the unique tones of each bass I am also discovering where they fit in the mix and what sort of mix they best fit into. I'm finding very little scope for interchangeability between then - for example where a P-Bass works well on a track, neither the Jazz nor the Ray will come close to doing the same job - and vice-versa. If I had just one of these basses, I would not be so aware of this, but having all three means that I can deploy any tone in almost any situation.

Very True!
I've heard some examples of Pbass slap tones, and it just didn't have the same ZING as a Stingray.

I have put EBMM flats on my SR5 and couldn't be happier. I do NOT slap, but play old school R&R and Blues.

How do you set the EQ knobs on your SR when you're playing a moderate blues shuffle?

Cmon, you're just messing with us right? if not I'd say get a one pickup SR and add a Ric and that will be a modern classic collection you'd have.

Let me reflect on this thread... You are referring to one eye roll emoticon (which is available as a choice in the "reply to thread" editor), and a gentle, in-good-fun, chiding (with appropriate smiley face) of a couple of EBMM's most loyal supporters? Have you ever read an EBMM thread on TB before? This one has been quite respectful

btw, why the all-caps yelling? You do realize that yelling at a fellow TB'er is pretty disrespectful and offensive, right?

Depends on the room and my amp setup, but mainly I add a little mid for punch, and roll off the treble. I leave the bass flat, but sometimes add a touch for certain songs and situations. Why do you ask?

I wouldn't consider myself one of it MOST LOYAL supporters, but I do like the quality and build of their basses.

I know jl I love Musicman bass too, and I know you are a good guy from reading your posts over the years. Don't let our resident TB good samaritan turn this into something it isn't!

Same here on my three bands. Also, I have a three band setup with La Belle flats that really sounds great for blues and R&B.
