Control plates on the SX Essex short scale Jag style body?

Are they the same size as a standard Jazz bass control plate? Would like to buy an SX, and upgrade the pots simply by dropping in a pre-wired plate. No muss, no fuss. Thank you for any reply, exept one that flames me for not doing a search. Because I did do a search and couldn't fine anything.

Someone should come along that knows the answer to this. Should it come to it, you wouldn't have any problem just swapping plates. It's probably a five minute job at most.

I don't know about short scale models. But the mod most needed by SX is a copper foil shielding. So it's not exactly no muss or fuss. Of course a pre-wired plate does mean your soldering is reduced to a minimum (still have to wire in the pickups) and you don't have to hassle ordering parts from all over and installing them.

A new pre-wired plate, if it fits, plus some copper foil ought to be a really nice improvement.

Thanks. Bass gets in tomorrow and I'll just start out by measuring.
