you could also look for a Reggie Hamilton pickguard or an imported Aerodyne pickguard but these are hard to find, they used to pop up on evay in America a lot though

I have a Washburn T12
first it was only P, now i made a J-pickup in it.
It's a J-neckpickup on the Bridge place because i dont have the bridge-pickup anymore.
Just finished it a few days ago.

and the Hello Kitty stickers the girl singer and her girlfriend did on my fretboard..

FWIW, the Aerodyne pickguards are available regularly on eBay from Jeannie Pickguards & Guitar Parts.

I will be doing this exact mod sometime in the next month. I'll have the neck pickup routed out to fit the Aerodyne position. Just bought a pearloid white Aerodyne pickguard from Jeannie...

I'm thinking about extending an existing Jazz neck rout to hold a reverse P pickup.
To make it sound right, should it be extended toward the neck, toward the bridge, or keeping the same centerline as the old Jazz neck pup?

A specially cut pickguard would have to be made but that is not a show-stopper.

Hm I found this thread which would seem to answer the question.
