Hi Anthony,

Yer this is the Adam Clayton bass. I know there has been a lot of bashing about that signature bass. I didn't buy because I'm a fan of U2. This bass has everything I would have asked from Fender CS. A jazz neck on a Precision, Abigail Yberra handwound pick-ups, quatersaw maple neck, abalone inlays, matching headstock, all vintage hardware. The sound is amazing and forget about the list price, the street price is way lower.

Do they make this in a 5'er? If so, I feel a GAS attack coming on...

Dude - it's beautiful. No bashing from me - if it has what you want on there, go enjoy. I know what you mean about the "bashing". I have the 2011 closet classic precision pro from the cs, because it has all the features that suit me. It attracts a love or hate reaction. So what right?
Cheers
Ant

I'm impressed with the Xotic P-Bass. Great build and superb tones-passive or active; old-school or modern.
Check 'em!

Gotta go with a stock '62 P, Olympic white with a red tort pickguard.

3 tone burst (amber, cherry, black) with tort pickguard with rosewood fingerboard is my favorite. I own/play my second favorite; butterscotch blonde with black pickguard and rosewood fingerboard. In either case, the 1957 body/neck design.

A list of my favourites in no particular order:

* '57 - Sunburst, Anodized, Maple...
* Sting's '53
* Pino's FR, Tort, R/W
* Glenn Hughes' CAR, White, Maple. Road Worn from being worn on the road. Love that one.
* Black, B/W/B, Maple. My first P was just this because JJ Burnel had one.
* The new Honeyburst hand rubbed, Parchment, Maple. It's a Guitar Center only American Special. Nice.
* Current G.A.S., and hopefully a new year purchase: 3TS American Standard, Parchment, Maple. However, I'm not seeing a Parchment pickguard available as standard. Maybe I'll trade someone here for the tort that seems standard.

I think the Jamerson family should seriously take a look at that bass on an earlier page that's for sale. It's a little uncanny...Especially the chip on the pickguard. Might just be the Funk Machine.
