PICKUP Seymour Duncan SJB-3n & SMB4-D
CONTROL Duncan designed BEQ-3 EQ
I don't think these pickups are passive though. The slap scoop switch is nice, but I'd like to make a passive/active switch to bypass the preamp, but I'm not sure if I can. Running it active ALL the time sounds like a big drawback for me...anyway, I'll probably buy it anyway...I have GAS big time. I do think I'd really enjoy the combination of the J and MM configuration.

Again my old Cort A4 is all I have to offer in comparison to my J. | I checked the measurements, and the GB94 is 38mm which is almost exactly 1.5 inches, same as most jazz basses.
So I think I would be comfortable with that. If its too thin from fretboard to the back of the neck...I've been playing my P mostly so that will take some getting used to. I have played the vintage mod Squire's and liked those necks at the same width.

Would the 3 band S. Duncan pre with slap switch fit properly without doing any mods?
The slap switch on the pre is a pull/push knob while the slap switch on the bass is a switch. can the I make the slap mode work with the switch the bass comes with?
The pre is set for 3 band single knobs while the bass comes with a Bass/Treble stack knod and a single mid knob.
Can the pre be connected to the original knob set up the bass comes stock with? this includes a separate PU blending knob.

I had the fret board de-fretted by Steve Kubica of Magic Guitars. I added an American Fender Deluxe bridge and strung it through body to give me additional choices on strings with the longer length. She weighs in around (6) lbs. and paired up with a comfort strap. Very friendly to play. The pickup will be replaced with an EMG-40 after the holidays.

I'm too busy today but perhaps I can take some time tonight and see if I can dig up interior pictures of both basses and see if the retrofit you're asking about can be done. |

No problem. Take your time. Is not something I will do right away. I want to check all options before I decide on a new pre.

I've been jonesing for a Curbow lately and while I was sniffin' around checking out Curbows I saw the Arona series. What struck me almost instantly is how much they resemble certain Yamaha designs, especially the upper horn.
AREA, yours is certainly a beautiful example! Really great looking bass! |

Finally, this Series has been developed in Collaboration with Sandberg Guitars. Bridge and Tuners are from Sandberg, the Pickups were designed by Delano.

| | | Hi all... I've had this bass laying around since 1996 (I think). From this thread, I can tell that it is a beginner PJ bass.
It's made in Korea with a serial number of 300356. I'm guessing it was made in 1993?
Any other info you can provide? Value? I'd say it needs work... pots are scratchy and the input jack probably needs soldering. |

| | | | This is an awesome thread! Sadly, my Cort got stolen from me about a month ago and I've missed it since... If anyone sees a 3-tone sunburt Curbow that looks like its missing home, send her my way (only kidding). But I love to see the pics none the less. |

Anyone know much on this model?? Reads; Cort Cm artist series. Active pups. Neck-thru. Really midrange but deep when turned up with neck pickup knob all the way up. I prefer mine toward the bridge with the treble boosted and the bass in the middle. Gold hardware and killer tone.. I have only seen 2 others. One being a five string. I believe it's the precursor to the artisian series, but I'm not an expert, and maybe cm stands for curly maple. Paid 350usd.
