Cotrol knobs on Ibanez 6-string

Sign in to disble this ad
I picked up a used Ibanez Gio GSR206 6-string bass last week. The battery in it is dead, so it's hard to tell what the knobs do. Can anyone tell me what each of the four knobs controls? Two seem to be for pickup volume, that much I figured out, but the other two don't seem to do much.

Do a Google search on "Ibanez Gio GSR206 controls" and select "Images" at the top of the page

Do a search for "Ibanez manuals", theres a link here somewhere to an Ibanez historical catalogue with all the manuals for all models. Or dig around ibanez.com.

If the battery is dead,it wont do anything. Replace the battery and start twiddleing knobs.

I'm rather aware of that - I have several ukes with passive electronics. In this case, the battery has just enough juice to give me a scratchy output change, but it's been difficult to figure if it was an EQ or a tone control. Thanks to the manual, above, I now know.

It's a bigger question about what an EQ is expected to do that a tone control doesn't...

Thanks for the manual. I did try the forum search but nothing in any thread title suggested anything of that nature. Perhaps I used the wrong terms.
