Just saw a Warwick FNA 5string for $500!!! Not sure of the year/condition yet. What should I be looking for? Any common problems with these basses to be aware of?

look for fret wear, and make sure the electronics work. those things are tanks.

Is it in Maryland? Where? I could solve your problem by buying it.

And even if it was chrisk-k, I wouldn't run backwards, naked through a well blossomed cornfield by letting you know if you were to c@#$block me.

I believe it. I bought Dale Titus' 4 string FNA for $550. The resale value on the Corvette series in general isn't very good.

Yes. The common problem is that people often resell Warwicks for ridiculously low prices, which keeps their resale value down should you ever want to sell one of yours. I bought a Streamer Pro M for $500, a Fortress One for $400, a Streamer Jazzman for $1200, and a Fortress Flshback for around $600. That's what's "wrong" (or "right" depending on which side of the fence you're on) with these basses.

Play it if you can, and if you like it, buy it. If you can't play talk to the person selling it, ask if there are any issues, use your judgement, and make a move. It's pretty common for people to be giving warwicks away.

Got mine because the previous owner was facing some serious legal issues and needed cash 'now.' Because he wasn't a bass player the bass was in need of some serious work. I got it cleaned, all electronics checked/cleaned, and all adjustments done for around $100. It sounds fantastic. Bottom line, play it if you can. As mentioned above, make sure electronics work. Look for a neck that might be askew. If all is well and you like it, that's all that matters.
