The bridge & headstock suggest Epiphone to me. It's worth $89 to the seller, apparently.

Dude, I'd pay $89 for that, just for shitz and giggles. If nothing else it's a helluva conversation piece.

if it was an epiphone, they'd have the name on the headstock. they're not shy about it.

Looks like it might be an old kit - some assembly required.

Looks like possibly a project of someone's, but with a P pickup, if the action is decent it should play OK.

The headstock says cheap Chinese-made to me, like a Crescent or something, but those usually put some kind of brand name on. For $89, you already know it's not a Modulus. It may be a kit bass.

Not if it's been in someone's bedroom for several years, then some other kid's garage, then this one dude sanded off the finish & painted it white but skipped/forgot the headstock, then it got traded for a bag of weed, then...
Not saying I think it's one thing or another, just that the outline of the H/S & the bridge saddles in particular look very much like some Epi stuff I've seen. What's more, the potentially-checkered history would make the price logical. Admittedly, so would being a total POS.

I just came across photos of a Hondo bass. It had the same exact headstock. Hope that helps.

Yup I had a Hondo that looked exactly like that. Sounded good. Hot pickups. Brass saddles .... but not so great in the balance department .. the case is worth $100

Thanks everyone for all the great replies.
I ended up going out and looking at it, man this thing looked like it been through a storm. I had to pass on it. Oh well though. There are always more basses out there. : p
